Articles of Organization and By Laws

Section 1: The name of this club, hereinafter referred to as the club, is Riverside Invitational Racing Pigeons Club.

Section 2: The Club is organized and exists as a non-profit organization without shares, stocks and for the purpose of providing its members with an opportunity to engage in the various aspects of the sport of pigeon racing.

Section 3: The primary purpose for which the club is formed is to promote fair and equitable pigeon racing competition where weather, geography and general race conditions will be similar for all competitions this should always be the overriding consideration for all future decisions concerning the club. THE CLUBHOUSE HAS LIMITED PARKING AND LIMITED FACILITIES FOR CONDUCTING MEETINGS AND SHIPPING OF BIRDS. THIS DICTATES THAT THE NUMBER OF ACTIVE MEMBERS IN THE CLUB IS CONTROLLED.

Members will be regulated in such a manner as to promote harmony, encourage sportsmanship and provide integrity to club members and the general public.

Section 4: Club voting powers are to be vested only to active club members.

Section 5: Secretary to issue three (3) race reports per race;

  1. A CLUB RACE REPORT WHICH WILL INCLUDE ALL CLUB MEMBERS SHIPPING THE RACE.

Section 6: As long as five members wish to continue with the original charter of the club. The club shall have perpetual life.

EXPULSION / SUSPENSION

A Club or provisional member accused of dishonorable conduct as outlined by the AU Rules of Conduct (see Sec14.) or the code of conduct of the RIC Club(specify), shall be notified they may appear before the rules committee of the club in their defense, during investigation, the of the charges. Such notification to appear shall be in writing at least seven (7) days before the date of the hearing and shall specify the charges. As a result of the investigation, the committee shall present their findings to the board membership of the club at the next regular meeting or at a special meeting. A majority vote of the board member would be required to expel or suspend a member. The hearing must follow procedures outlined in the AU’s Constitution and Bylaws (see Sec. 15 Disciplinary Rules) and must assure the charged individual is afforded “due process”. Frivolous complaints, complaints deemed to be harassment, and any false complaint shall be grounds for expulsion of the party bringing the complaint. A member expelled for cause loses all privileges of RIC Club membership and is not eligible for reinstatement.

DISPUTES

Disputes (other than disputes, which are to handle by the Race Secretary,) are to be settled as follows: They shall first be referred to the Club President for settlement. If his decision is appealed by either party to the dispute, the master shall be taken up by the Club officers for settlement.

If their decision is appealed by either party to the dispute, the entire membership, at its next meeting, other than the parties to the dispute, shall dispute the issues by majority vote.

SHORTAGE OF OPERATING FUNDS

Any shortages of funds shall be assessed equally to all members and restored to the Club treasury. In the event of an assessment (select amount), each member may be given the opportunity to pay their portion of the assessment in three or more installments. Any agreement to money given, invested, or loaned to the club must be recorded in the minutes and a written agreement or contract provided, as appropriate, signed by the Club’s officers.

DISSOLUTION OF ASSOCIATION

The club shall not be dissolved without the consent, in writing, of two-thirds (2/3) of its members, obtained in one and confirmed in another special meeting convened solely for consideration of such dissolution. Upon dissolution, the property of the club shall be disposed of, to the best advantage, and the proceeds, after all bills and obligations have been paid, shall be donated to a charitable organization (specify)

RULES OF CONDUCT

  1. All RIC members are to be civil to fellow members in association with all club business and any club function.
  2. Adults will respect junior members and will treat these youngsters with dignity. Absolutely no abuse of junior’s members will be tolerated. The children will be helped, encouraged, and praised only, and never to be made to feel inadequate or otherwise have their feelings hurt.
  3. Smoking is permitted only out of door and at a reasonable distance away from non-smokers and children.
  4. No Beer or any Alcohol allowed, at the club location.

RACE RULES

Race rules, to be established by the board, special races, diplomas, trophies, and other prizes shall entertain the wishes of the provisional membership, provided they do not conflict with the Official AU Race Rules and the Riverside Invitational Club constitution.

Race rules, schedules, and release times will be reviewed at the annual meeting. Copies of the club constitutional, bylaws, and race rules shall be available on demand. A copy of any rules changes and the race schedule shall be made available to every member annually.

The computer responsible for merging race data of the club results will be shared. The club computer, 19 inches screen, HP printer LP9 and the Unikon data logger & club unit & all cables is RIC club property.

Shipping limits are determined on the basis of shipping crate space available divided between flying members. Flyers not employing their full allotment of shipping crate space in a given race forfeit that unutilized crate space to the other club members to ship additional birds for the race.

The preferred method of paying for a race season is to charge a flat fee per race season.

Crowding: The birds cannot be crowded in a “packed” manner in the individual members shipping crates for race or training purposes. Each bird must have room to stand in the shipping crate without being forced into physical contact with other birds: when settled down and loading.

INVITATIONAL CLUB GUIDELINES

A current member in good standing with the current or previous club must a person wishing to be considered for RIC RPC membership. The member must first present his nomination to the officers of the club prior to the official club meeting for an of vote by the club members. A member only meeting will be held to discuss the nomination for a person being considered for membership a two-thirds (2/3) –majority vote of the Club members in attendance will be taken by way of blind vote to determine if the person is allowed to join RIC RPC.

PROVISIONAL MEMBERSHIP OPENS

Provisional membership is open when the bylaws are adopted. A provisional member is any flyer that agrees to the conditions of the board and code of conduct of the RIC club, pays all their dues, and if flying, any race expense.

All new members need to pay first time fee of $25.00.

Club dues every member is to pay annual dues, to the AU, CSRPO, ECC and club dues.

AU DUES—————–$30.00

CSRPO DUES————$14.00 – Voluntary

ECC DUES—————-$20.00

ANNUAL CLUB FEE—$25.00

If any members do not fly YB or OB, they still need to pay all dues, NO EXEPTIONS.

If club fees are not paid by March 1st it becomes delinquent and membership will be terminated

If any membership is terminated, there will be two years waiting period to apply as a new member
